Wayne Smith is the Director of Workforce Development for HospitalityTN.  He previously served the association as Director of Education, where he was responsible for supporting and enhancing high school & postsecondary hospitality & tourism programs throughout Tennessee, as well as management of the Hospitality Tennessee Education Foundation, whose mission is to educate the current and future hospitality and tourism workforce.  

Smith was formerly a Major Restaurant Accounts Manager for Kraft Foodservice in Nashville before spending a cumulative 25 years in public and private education where his experience included teaching business & marketing, guidance counselor, development/administration, and coaching.  He served as a DECA Chapter Advisor for ten years (Student Non-Profit Organization Preparing Emerging Leaders and Entrepreneurs) and was named Middle TN AAA Softball Coach of the Year in 2010. 

Smith is a Kentucky native and holds a B.S. Degree in Marketing from Murray State University.
